Haaland Completes Scoring Set Against All Faced Premier League Clubs in City Win

Despite the loss, Sunderland's Brian Brobbey netted a hat trick, becoming the first player to score three goals and lose a Premier League match since Roque Santa Cruz in 2007.

Haaland’s 117th career Premier League goal established a unique personal record, as he has now scored against all 25 clubs he has faced in the competition. Sunderland had been the only opponent he failed to score against in two previous meetings last season. The strike was Haaland's fifth of the current campaign, placing him at the top of the Golden Boot race ahead of Liverpool's Alexander Isak, who has four goals.

Brobbey's performance marked the first Sunderland hat trick in the top flight since Jermain Defoe ten years ago. He is also the first player to score three times against Manchester City since Jamie Vardy in 2018. With the victory, City manager Enzo Maresca became the sixth manager in Premier League history to win his first five games in charge.
