Kon Knueppel and Grant Williams will miss all four Charlotte Hornets preseason games due to hamstring injuries and will be reevaluated during the first week of the regular season.
The Charlotte Hornets announced Friday that Kon Knueppel will miss the entire preseason due to a left hamstring injury sustained during offseason on-court activity. Veteran forward Grant Williams is also sidelined for the four-game exhibition schedule after injuring his right hamstring. According to ESPN, both players are scheduled for reevaluation during the first week of the regular season, which begins for Charlotte on Oct. 21 against the Brooklyn Nets.
Knueppel enters his second year following a rookie campaign where he became the first newcomer to lead the NBA with 273 successful 3-pointers. He averaged 18.5 points and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 42.5% from beyond the arc. The Hornets expect to increase Knueppel's role this season following the summer trade of LaMelo Ball to Minnesota.
Williams joins him on the injury report with career averages of 7.2 points and 3.7 rebounds across seven seasons. The team has ruled both players out for the duration of the preseason as they recover from their respective leg injuries.
