Jacob Misiorowski Sweeps Major Statistical Categories; Alvarez and Moreno Win Batting Titles

Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski finished the season with 252 strikeouts, a 1.80 ERA, and a .157 opponent batting average to lead the major leagues.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski became just the fourth pitcher since 1950 to lead the major leagues in ERA (1.80), strikeouts (252), and opponents' batting average (.157). According to Elias Sports Bureau, he joins Sandy Koufax (1965), J.R. Richard (1979), and Mike Scott (1986) as the only players to lead all three categories in a single season since 1950. Misiorowski’s .157 opponent average is the lowest for a pitcher with at least 100 innings since 1900, surpassing Pedro Martinez's .167 mark in 2000. Additionally, he recorded a 0.80 WHIP across at least 150 innings and threw 1,115 pitches at 100 mph or faster, breaking Jordan Hicks' 2018 record of 673.

In the American League, Houston’s Yordan Alvarez secured his first batting title with a .316 average, the lowest for an overall MLB champion since 1960. Arizona’s Gabriel Moreno won the National League crown at .311, finishing .001 ahead of Philadelphia’s Luis Arraez. Moreno is the first Diamondback to win the title and the fifth player with at least 50 starts at catcher to do so. Only seven qualified hitters reached a .300 average this season, matching the low totals of 2024 and 2025.

Other statistical leaders included Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Schwarber, who tied for the MLB lead with 45 home runs. Pete Alonso, who joined the Orioles as a free agent, led the AL with 43 homers and 113 RBIs, becoming the first player to win an RBI title in both leagues. St. Louis’ Alec Burleson led the NL with 116 RBIs. In the stolen base category, Washington’s Nasim Nuñez led the majors with 49, while Corbin Carroll hit 17 triples to lead his league for the fourth consecutive year. On the mound, Cristopher Sánchez and Sonny Gray tied for the most wins with 18, marking another season without a 20-game winner.
