Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels exited a 37-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys after dislocating his left elbow on the final play of the first half.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated left elbow during a 37-20 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The injury occurred on the final play of the first half when Daniels, who was 11-of-17 for 96 passing yards and had 69 rushing yards, tripped over left guard Chris Paul while attempting a touchdown pass. Daniels did not return for the second half. This marks a re-injury of the same elbow that caused him to miss four games in 2025. The Commanders, now 0-2, also lost guard Sam Cosmi to an injury during the game, while star tackle Laremy Tunsil remains out with a torn triceps.

In Minnesota, the Chicago Bears fell 9-3 to the Vikings as quarterback Caleb Williams exited in the fourth quarter with a hamstring injury. Williams, who was helped off the field and carted to the locker room, struggled against a Vikings defense that held Chicago to 0-for-3 in the red zone. Before his departure, Williams completed a 32-yard screen pass to D'Andre Swift to set up a first-and-goal. Backup Tyson Bagent finished the game but was sacked by Dallas Turner to end Chicago's final scoring threat. Williams reportedly walked unassisted after the game, though his status for Week 3 remains undetermined.

The New Orleans Saints moved to 1-1 with a 24-17 upset over the Baltimore Ravens. Quarterback Tyler Shough completed 77.9% of his passes for 727 yards over the last six quarters of play, including a fourth-and-goal rushing touchdown against Baltimore. The Saints' defense was led by Chase Young, who recorded 1.5 sacks and three pressures against Lamar Jackson. Despite the win, New Orleans struggled on the ground, as Alvin Kamara and Travis Etienne Jr. combined for just 42 rushing yards on 18 carries.
