Jayden Daniels was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game after suffering a left elbow injury on a third-and-goal play.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Dallas Cowboys after suffering an injury to his left elbow. The incident occurred in Arlington on the final play of the first half during a third-and-goal snap from the 1-yard line. Daniels appeared to have his feet stepped on by left guard Chris Paul, causing the quarterback to fall and brace himself with his left arm, which then bent back.

Before exiting the contest, Daniels completed 11 of 17 passes for 96 yards and one touchdown to Stefon Diggs. He also recorded 69 rushing yards on seven carries, helping Washington recover from an early 17-3 deficit. The injury took place with three seconds remaining in the half as the Commanders opted to run a play rather than attempt a field goal.

Medical personnel evaluated Daniels on the field before he was transported to the locker room via cart with a towel over his head. According to ESPN, this injury affects the same elbow Daniels dislocated in Week 9 of the previous season against Seattle. During that 2025 campaign, he missed four weeks before a reinjury in Week 14 at Minnesota ended his season. Daniels entered Sunday's matchup as the reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
