Running back Jonathan Taylor is the subject of trade talks between the Indianapolis Colts and multiple teams ahead of the Tuesday 4 p.m. deadline.
Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor is awaiting a resolution to trade negotiations involving multiple teams prior to the NFL’s Tuesday 4 p.m. deadline. The 27-year-old, who is the franchise's career rushing touchdown leader and second-leading all-time rusher, stated that he is ready for finality following weeks of speculation. The Colts (2-6) are reportedly mulling offers for Taylor and wide receiver Josh Downs to stockpile draft picks after recently firing general manager Chris Ballard and trading guard Quenton Nelson and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
Taylor is coming off a performance in which he was held to 23 rushing yards on eight carries during a 42-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He did not play in the fourth quarter of that contest due to the scoring deficit. Despite the ongoing Jonathan Taylor trade talks, head coach Shane Steichen confirmed the running back will play in Sunday’s home game against the Dallas Cowboys. Taylor noted that while he cannot avoid internet speculation, he intends to focus on the upcoming game rather than external factors regarding his future with the organization.
