The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Detroit Pistons 112-106 on Wednesday night, improving their record to 8-1. Jaylen Brown led Philadelphia with a season-high 30 points and recorded a late-game block on Cade Cunningham to secure the victory. Joel Embiid contributed 26 points and 15 rebounds, while LeBron James finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists. The win avenged Philadelphia's only loss of the season and moved the team to 4-0 on the road, a feat the franchise has not achieved since the 2000-01 season.

Despite the blistering start, James and head coach Nick Nurse dismissed early championship proclamations on November 4th. James noted that in the five previous instances where his teams started at least 7-1, they reached the NBA Finals. Historically, the 76ers have reached the Finals in all four previous seasons where they started 4-0 or better on the road over the last 50 years.

Philadelphia faces two potential injury concerns following the win in Detroit. Point guard Tyrese Maxey suffered a right pinky finger injury while attempting to split a double team in the final seconds. Although the finger appeared swollen, Maxey stated he would be fine. Additionally, center Adem Bona exited the game in the fourth quarter with a neck injury. Nurse indicated Bona appeared to be okay but scheduled an official update for Thursday. The 76ers next play the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday.
