The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Baltimore Ravens to open Week 9, while analysts now predict the Cleveland Browns will upset the New Orleans Saints.

Week 9 of the 2026 NFL season began with the Jacksonville Jaguars defeating the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night. Heading into the remaining 14 games, ESPN analysts predict the Green Bay Packers (+3) will defeat the New England Patriots outright, citing a defense that has limited opponents to two touchdowns on passes of 10-plus yards. The Cleveland Browns (+3) are also projected to upset the New Orleans Saints, as quarterback Tyler Shough faces a Cleveland unit maintaining a top-10 pressure rate.

In Minnesota, analyst Ben Solak predicts Carson Wentz will start for the injured Kyler Murray and generate "QB controversy" buzz by outperforming Murray's season averages against the Buffalo Bills. In Philadelphia, Joe Milton is set to start for the Eagles against the New York Giants following the benching of Tanner McKee. The Giants will start rookie J.J. McCarthy, while running back Devin Singletary is expected to see increased volume due to Tyrone Tracy Jr. being placed on IR with a hamstring injury.

Statistical projections for Sunday include Detroit Lions defensive tackle Alim McNeill recording 1.5 sacks and five pressures against a Miami Dolphins offensive line allowing a 9.3% sack rate. Denver Broncos running back Jonah Coleman is projected to finish with 15 carries for 79 yards and a touchdown against the Carolina Panthers. Additionally, Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner is forecast to allow just two receptions for 17 yards on 34 coverage snaps against the Dallas Cowboys.
