Rashee Rice is expected to return to the Chiefs' lineup Sunday after participating in three practices this week following a hamstring injury.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is expected to return for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos after recovering from a strained right hamstring. Rice, who sustained the injury during a Week 4 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, participated in all three practices this week. Through four games this season, the receiver has recorded 13 receptions on 16 targets for 190 yards and one touchdown.
The Chiefs' offense struggled during Rice's two-game absence, as quarterback Patrick Mahomes failed to throw a touchdown pass in either contest. In last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the receiving corps of Xavier Worthy, Cyrus Allen, Justin Watson, Andrew Armstrong, and Jalen Royals combined for only six catches totaling 39 yards.
Defensively, rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane is listed as questionable for Sunday after missing practice on Thursday and Friday. Delane is dealing with a right shoulder injury, the same issue that previously involved a hairline scapula fracture and limited him to three snaps in the season opener. While rookie defensive end R Mason Thomas missed Friday's practice for personal reasons, head coach Andy Reid stated the team expects him to play in Denver.
