The Milwaukee Brewers will host the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the World Series this Friday following their NLCS victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Milwaukee Brewers are set to host the Tampa Bay Rays for Game 1 of the World Series on Friday. This marks the franchise's first appearance in the championship series since 1982. The team secured the American League pennant after recording the final out in Game 4 of the NL Championship Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In a statement released Wednesday via the team, the family of Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker said he would be "incredibly proud" of the current roster. Uecker died on Jan. 16, 2025, at age 90, less than two years before this World Series run. The broadcaster spent 54 years calling Brewers games, including the 2023 and 2024 seasons while he was being treated for small cell lung cancer.

Uecker’s family specifically extended gratitude to Brewers manager Pat Murphy and principal owner Mark Attanasio. During the Game 4 clincher, radio broadcaster Jeff Levering paid tribute to Uecker’s "Major League" film character, Harry Doyle, by shouting, "The Brewers win the pennant! Oh my God, the Brewers win the pennant!"

The city of Milwaukee currently honors the broadcaster with an 80-foot-wide by 100-foot-high mural downtown. Additionally, American Family Field features two statues of Uecker: one outside the stadium and another located in the back row of the upper level behind home plate.
