Wrexham earned their first home Championship win of the season as an 89th-minute Keven Schlotterbeck own goal sealed a 2-1 result against Southampton.

Wrexham defeated Southampton 2-1 on Saturday to secure their first home Championship victory of the campaign. The decisive moment arrived in the 89th minute when Keven Schlotterbeck inadvertently turned a low cross from Jacques Ekomie into his own net while under pressure from Callum O'Hare. The result ended a winless stretch for Phil Parkinson’s side, who entered the match following a 6-0 loss to West Ham.

Kieffer Moore opened the scoring for the hosts in the 35th minute, powering a header past Daniel Peretz following a corner delivered by Ben Whiteman. Southampton, who dominated the opening period, equalized five minutes after the halftime interval. James Ward-Prowse scored his first goal since returning to the club by firing home a thumping follow-up shot after his initial attempt was blocked.
