The Denver Broncos placed rookie running back Jonah Coleman on injured reserve Saturday following an ankle injury sustained during the team's Week 2 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Coleman, who recorded his first career touchdown on a 3-yard run in that contest, had already been ruled out for Sunday night’s game against the Los Angeles Rams. According to ESPN, the move requires Coleman to miss a minimum of three additional games, making October 25 against the Arizona Cardinals his earliest possible return date.
Before the injury, Coleman served as the primary back during Denver's final possession against Jacksonville, accounting for 33 of his 39 rushing yards as the team exhausted the final 4 minutes and 41 seconds of the clock. While Coleman remained in uniform and on the practice field this week, he did not participate in team drills. Coach Sean Payton confirmed that J.K. Dobbins and RJ Harvey will be available for the Rams game after both players practiced fully on Thursday and Friday despite recent hamstring issues.
In corresponding roster moves, the Broncos signed long snapper Mitchell Fraboni to the active roster from the practice squad. The team also elevated fullback Adam Prentice and wide receiver Kolbe Katsis for Sunday’s matchup. Katsis provides depth as wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. is listed as questionable with a foot injury.
