De'Von Achane Ruled Out With Knee Injury Against Chiefs

Dolphins Pro Bowl running back De'Von Achane exited Sunday's game against the Chiefs after an 11-yard rush on the opening drive.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane was ruled out of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs after suffering a knee injury during the opening drive at Miami Gardens. According to ESPN, Achane was tackled by Chiefs safety Alohi Gilman following an 11-yard rush around the left end, which was his third carry of the contest. The Pro Bowler was initially evaluated in the blue medical tent before being taken to the locker room for additional testing.

Achane appeared on the Dolphins' sideline after halftime without his helmet or shoulder pads. His exit left Miami with only one active running back, Ollie Gordon II, who subsequently recorded his first touchdown of the season. The Dolphins had entered the game with rookie Jaylen Wright inactive due to a stinger.

Prior to the injury, Achane had recorded 159 scrimmage yards on 38 touches through the first two weeks of the 2026 season. This follows a 2025 campaign where he earned Pro Bowl honors with 1,838 yards from scrimmage and 12 total touchdowns. While the 5-foot-9, 195-pound back missed five games with a knee injury during his 2023 rookie season, he had only missed two games combined over the previous two years while accumulating 586 total touches.
