Garrett Wilson will miss Sunday's game against the Chiefs after reporting concussion symptoms following a 38-33 loss to the Raiders.
The New York Jets (2-6) ruled out wide receiver Garrett Wilson for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. Wilson entered the concussion protocol after reporting symptoms on Monday, following a blow to the head delivered by safety Jeremy Chinn during the next-to-last play of a 38-33 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders. The wideout currently leads the Jets with 43 receptions, 527 yards, and three touchdowns.
Adonai Mitchell will serve as the team’s No. 1 receiver after recording a career-high 142 yards last week. Rookie Omar Cooper Jr. is also expected to see an increased role; Cooper did not receive a target against the Raiders but previously recorded consecutive 100-yard receiving performances. Offensive coordinator Frank Reich stated the team will adjust their scheme to play to the strengths of Mitchell and Cooper in Wilson's absence.
In the backfield, running back Breece Hall declared himself ready to play after missing five games due to a quadriceps injury. During Hall's absence, backup Braelon Allen rushed for 504 yards. Coach Aaron Glenn confirmed both players will participate on Sunday, though the team has not specified how carries will be distributed beyond Reich describing the workload as a mixture.
