Sabres Sign Noah Ostlund to Eight-Year, $52.8 Million Contract

Forward Noah Ostlund signed an eight-year, $52.8 million contract with the Buffalo Sabres on Monday after recording 11 goals in his rookie season.

The Buffalo Sabres signed 22-year-old forward Noah Ostlund to an eight-year, $52.8 million contract on Monday, according to an announcement from the team. The Sweden native, who was the 16th overall pick in the 2022 draft, is entering the final year of his rookie deal. This agreement was finalized before the NHL’s new collective bargaining agreement takes effect Wednesday, which will limit re-signing players to maximum seven-year terms.

Ostlund recorded 11 goals and 27 points across 60 regular-season games during his rookie campaign last year. He added two points, including one goal and one assist, in three playoff appearances. The Sabres expect him to occupy a top-two line role this season as either a winger or a center.

Buffalo recently ended a 14-season playoff drought, reaching the second round for the first time since 2007 before being eliminated by Montreal. Ostlund joins a core of players under contract through at least 2030, which includes forwards Josh Doan, Zach Benson, and Josh Norris, alongside defensemen Owen Power, Mattias Samuelsson, and Rasmus Dahlin.
