New Orleans Saints left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. is out indefinitely after suffering a high ankle sprain during the team's 24-17 victory against the Baltimore Ravens. Sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that the 22-year-old lineman is expected to undergo surgery. The injury occurred late in the third quarter when Banks landed awkwardly on his ankle, requiring him to be carted off the field.

Asim Richards replaced Banks at left tackle for the remainder of the contest. According to Rapoport, the recovery process will likely involve a stint on injured reserve, though there is a possibility for the tackle to return late in the season. Banks, the ninth overall pick in the 2025 draft, started every game for New Orleans during his rookie campaign.

The Saints' offensive line depth includes Taliese Fuaga, the team's 2024 first-round selection. While Fuaga began his career at left tackle, he transitioned to the right side last season following the arrival of Banks. The team has not yet officially confirmed a timeline for Banks' return to the active roster.
