De'Von Achane will miss the rest of the 2026 NFL season after tearing his ACL on his third rushing attempt against the Chiefs.

Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane suffered a torn ACL during a 24-10 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season, sources told ESPN and NFL Network. The injury occurred on Achane's third rushing attempt when he was tackled by Chiefs safety Alohi Gilman. The loss dropped the Dolphins to a 0-3 record.

Achane was escorted to the medical tent under his own power before being taken to the locker room for testing and ruled out in the second half. Prior to the injury, the Pro Bowl running back had recorded 127 yards on 34 carries through three games. This follows a 2025 campaign where he produced 1,838 yards from scrimmage and 12 touchdowns. Achane recently signed a four-year, $64 million extension in May that keeps him under contract through 2030.

With Jaylen Wright inactive due to a stinger, Ollie Gordon II served as the only other active running back on Sunday, finishing with 17 carries for 41 yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver Malik Washington also took snaps at running back following Achane's exit. Coach Jeff Hafley noted the team was still gathering details but described the outlook as not very optimistic. Achane has been the focal point of the Miami offense, totaling 627 touches since 2024, while no other current Dolphins player has surpassed 150 in that same period.
